who are looking to start outdoor climbing.
Objective of this course is to provide participants
with a strong knowledge base of climbing equipment,
knots, hitches, bends, commands/communication, climbing movement
and techniques, belay techniques,
rappel techniques, risk assessment/management,and site safety.
Will be held in different classic outdoor climbing venues to expose students to several different rock types
and climbing styles (face, slab, crack). This level focuses primarily on top-roped climbing, including top rope anchor systems, rappelling,
and top rope site management. These sessions include both sport and trad climbs.
Try to be as detailed as possible in your application. It will be help us make a
more informed decision during the selection process.

Rental equipment may be available. AEX is a registered

charitable donation. These funds not only help to offset instructor training and equipment expenses,
they are also utilized to help provide AEX's First Aid/CPR and Wilderness First Aid programs, trail maintenance in public lands.
